Me in Denzili, Turkey. Hot day. Denizli is one of the smaller cities in Turkey and isn't really a place where the locals get to see foreigners often. I've been there twice now but that didn't stop people giving me stares.. stares as if they were saying.. "who the fuck is that?" or.. "What is he doing here?"

It's not always comfortable being stared at.. and i mean 'stare'.. their eyes would follow and track you as you would walk past. but I did eventually learn the trick of staring back... that makes them look away.

why do you think i am wearing sunglasses in so many of the pictures of me seen recently? It sure as hell aint for vanity reasons, as i'm the ugliest of mofo's. It was really just to hide my eyes :D

Having said that, once the people get to know you or at least get to be introduced to you, they are very open and friendly people there and tend to bend over backwards to make you, as their guest as comfortable as possible.

Ice Cafe.... well that was the place Ozge and I were walking to when she took this picture of me with my point & shoot.

Oh and my camera bag... the black thing on my back, I nearly lost that flying from Istanbul to Athens. Long story, but it involved a few beers and forgetting to pick it up after I went through security... I went through, and got onto the shuttle bus that takes you to the plane.. 5 minutes later I realised it wasn't with me.... much running ensued... oops :)

Yeah, Denizli isn't exactly a tourist destination ;P so they'd be quite suspicious at first xD
In a way, it's a good thing, if you're looking for a very uhh .. Turkish place, without all the hotels and holiday resorts and stuff, I guess.

it's a fake.. it's 35mm size (or aspect) and I just plonked a medium format frame around it.

wait a minute... how does this reveal my age? you can read the lines on my face? :)
